One week to go til Barcelona

There’s just one week to go now until the Stone Roses play their two shows in Spain at Barcelona’s Sala Razzmatazz 1.

The Saturday show on the 9th June has finally sold out through ticktackticket.com, but there’s still tickets available for the first Barca show on Friday 8th.

If you’re thinking about picking up a last minute ticket and flight, it’s worth remembering the capacity of this venue (I think) is only 4,000 each night – so it will be smaller venue than the Manchester Apollo for example. Get involved!

We will hopefully have a reviewer at the Saturday show and the Amsterdam gig the following Tuesday (12th June) – so check back as we might have a few photos etc.

Tickets still available for Stone Roses first comeback shows in Barcelona next month

With just three weeks to go before the Stone Roses play their first shows together, unbelievably there are still tickets available for the two opening Spanish shows in Barcelona.

Compared to the 100,000+ capacity of Heaton Park, these shows at Barcelona’s Razzmatazz are (I think) just 4,000 capacity. Here are some photos of the venue outside and inside.

The shows take place on Friday 8th June and Saturday 9th June. You can purchase tickets for 58.40 euros inc. fees (£46.92 at today’s ex. rate) via the Spanish equivalent of Ticketmaster (ticktackticket.com) or by kiosk (in Granada and Madrid), outlets and over the phone. Tickets bought via tickaticket.com can be collected on the night, or you can pay 40 euros for international delivery.

It’s worth also looking at Viagogo as with the show not being a sell-out as anticipated you may be able to pick up a cheaper than face ticket. A quick glance at Friday and tickets are selling from £45.23, whereas Saturday tickets on Viagogo are selling from £45.19

If you’re considering making the trip a good site to check flight prices from London/Manchester to Barcelona is Skyscanner. You can probably get a return flight for just over £100 with Jet2 and Monarch.

Accomodation-wise for hotels I would start your search at Tripadvisor (£70/night upwards), or check out AirBNB for cheaper stays with locals (£40/night upwards)

Are you making the trip? Let us know in the comments where you’re staying :)

Is Reni pulling out of the Stone Roses reunion shows?

Matthew Priest (the drummer from Dodgy) has suggested there may be doubts over whether Reni will appear at the Stone Roses reunion shows this summer. Speaking to The Sun’s gossip columnist Gordon Smart on his XFM show over the weekend, Priest is quoted as saying:

I bought tickets because The Roses were one of my favourite bands and Reni was playing. But I’ve heard rumours that Reni might not be playing – he’s not well apparently and they’re rehearsing with another drummer. They’ve sold a lot of the 250,000 tickets because of Reni – I’d want to see them with Reni

However, representatives for the Roses have been quick to deny the rumours, confirming that the band are currently rehearsing with all four original members.

You can hear the interview with Matthew Priest on Smart On Sunday via the listen again on the XFM website (or download the free podcast on iTunes – although the 6th May show is not yet available)

Tickets for the first* Stone Roses show of 2012 at Barcelona Razzmatazz (approx. capacity 4000 I think) on 6th June are still available to buy online. We’ll be writing a follow-up post later this week researching cost of flights and accomodation available for those of you still considering a last-minute trip to Spain.

*unless they add more warm-up dates ;)
